Son of a proud dragoon, it's little wonder that such a brave warrior's child would either seek to follow in his footsteps or quickly arrive at the conclusion that such a life isn't for him. Xavierre realized the latter at the age of five. He decided his time was better spent weaving or improving his grades instead of studying the lance in a desperate attempt to one-up his father. Such things, he thought, were trivial and did little to one's soul but fill it with jealousy. So he studied fashion, the subjects of his schooling, and the efficacy of materials in conducting aether. It wasn't long before his household lauded him as their latest prodigy, and sent him off to Ul'dah so that he might study weaving with the best. From there, a life of travel became comforting, and then he became a traveling merchant, peddler of his own wares. Xavierre frequents all four city-states in the Eorzean Alliance, with the occasional caravan or guarded trip to Idyllshire in pursuit of that sweet, sweet gil.As of late, he's been making friends within his hometown of Ishgard, and word has it he's been traveling less because of them. He's also been making quite the effort to get his dearest twin sister involved in his life again, as she'd been cooped up in the family manor with an illness that had refused to let her go.

Hooks

Nothing here suits your fancy? Throw a request my way, we can work something out!

  • Looking to learn - Is your character a weaver in their own right? Mayhap you could teach him a thing or two...or the other way around!

  • Fellow arcanists - Studied arcanima? Fond of carbuncles? Never had a chance to pet one before? Well, you've found your man.

  • Scholarly pursuits - Xavierre has published a few papers on arcanima, and is actively working on more. His research focuses primarily on the study of carbuncles and the usage of one's garments to improve or streamline the casting process. Alternatively, if you're looking for someone to discuss in-depth aetherological theory with, you've come to the right place.

  • Shopping? - If you're ever in one of the major city-states of Vylbrand or Aldenard and in need of clothes, Xavierre's got you covered.

  • Queer heir - Equal parts gay and socially out-of-place at any given moment, Xavierre is the new head to his family, and has amassed a reputation for being altogether weird. Members of Ishgardian nobility familiar with the Knights Dragoon would probably know the late Baron Chatelain, and quite likely know of his son.

The Carbuncle Clothier

Quality clothes and comfy carbuncle blankets abound await with Xavierre's remarkable craftsmanship and years of study in weaving and arcanima both. Everything is made by hand, so no two pieces are ever completely identical, close though they may be.

The bulk of his work is performed on a by-commission basis, but he maintains a ready-to-wear stock (and a printing mammet for a proper catalogue of previous commissions) for days or nights he spends vending his wares in the streets of most Eorzean Alliance city-states.

Xavierre specializes in making clothes to order, and has been experimenting with and innovating in the field of aetheroconductive clothes, especially those made to ease the channeling process for his fellow mages or crafters. While he's still studying methods to allow for basic spells to be cast through one's clothes, he's practically mastered making clothes that carry the aether on a much quicker pathway than those that don't bear his careful embroideries. Excess aether is dispelled just as easily as what being cast is carried along its length, allowing for further optimization of cast times and dispersal of personal wards or buffs, for example.

If what he has on hand doesn't fit, or simply isn't what you're looking for, commissions or tailoring sessions can be arranged!

Wares

  • Carbuncle hooded blankets

  • Carbuncle-themed bedding sets for most sizes

  • Carbuncle hats, complete with the big floppy ears

  • Ready-to-wear, pre-warded capes for both warmth and magical defense

  • One-size-fits-most accelerant gloves

  • Various ready-to-wear tops, pants and gloves to aid in crafting or casting

Boutique

I've managed to secure an apartment for the Clothier's physical location, though decking the place out will take time. Once it's ready for public showings, I'll put the address here.

That said, the Carbuncle Clothier will only open by appointment only or to serve as a setpiece to a scene. I simply don't have the energy to run a whole venue like that regularly as just one person.

OOC

Hey there, name's Lyon! I'm 21, and my pronouns are he/they. I've been doing text-based roleplay on and off for the past seven or eight years, and roleplaying in FFXIV for about the past three. Single-paragraph style is a comfort zone for me, and trying to go longer than that tends to be a serious detriment to my turn speed. (For reference, my average in-game turn runs the gamut between one and three posts, typically no more than two.) I won't hold anything against you if all you can manage is a one-liner every now and then, though I ask that it's at least suitable enough to keep the scenario going.

I can't believe this has to be said, but I'm saying it now so it's not a problem later. Please do not stream or video record in-game roleplay with my character without my express permission. The whole practice makes me incredibly uncomfortable, and if I'm made aware that you're streaming or otherwise recording our interactions beyond screenshots or text logging, I will leave and you will be blacklisted.

I'm not my characters. Any romance between him and your character is to remain strictly in-character. Likewise, I'd prefer we keep any in-character aggression in-character.

Please do not approach me for casual ERP, I don't have qualms with fade-to-black skipping, but he isn't one for casual sex.

I know it's kind of a given, but please don't attempt to seriously injure or kill off my characters without consulting me first.

Xavierre is based on Coeurl, but I'm willing to travel. In need of more screencaps? Go check out Xavierre's Refsheet page in the footer below.
